Dual Brand inspired by the aesthetics of the historic loft apartments prevalent in Chicago’s downtown for HI & adopts a traditional residential aesthetic for HWS.
Designed from the ground up by VOA (now Stantec), the project consists of a 230-key Hampton Inn and 126-key Homewood Suites. Each property has its own identity yet maintains a cohesive interior design arrangement. Incorporating the neighborhood scale and surrounding low-rise masonry buildings, the hotel tower responds well to its environment. The interior imparts an additional inviting appeal with a residential feel and sense of familiarity comforting guests.
While with VOA, as a creative lead on the project, Shilpa led the Interior Design from conceptualization to completion. In addition to interior architecture and managing consultant coordination, Shilpa oversaw the choice of materials and furniture selections.
Hampton Inn borrows from the aesthetics of the historic loft apartments prevalent in Chicago’s downtown. Loft living spaces incorporate an open floor plan, modern furnishings, and subtle industrial details. The bold use of color accentuates a contemporary monochromatic scheme seamlessly and delivers a spirited mood within an urban location.
Inspired by Chicago’s historic appeal, the Homewood Suites’ public area design adopts a traditional residential aesthetic. With wood paneling, coffers and molding, this space is welcoming and warm. To allow for distinct separation between the spaces Shilpa introduced a series of elaborate and robust transoms. These architectural features combine texture and ambiance to the space presenting a timeless sophistication to the overall atmosphere.
