The design intent conveys the essence of an authentic European bistro while providing a strong sense of place for locals.

The owners requested a fresh, yet classic interior design style for this European-inspired American bistro. The creation of this concept was rooted in the chef’s style of cuisine.  The approach was generated with a food forward vision.  As a designer on the 555 team, Shilpa was integral in delivering the restaurant from conceptualization to construction. The desire was to match the interiors with the chef’s fare celebrating a modern timeless menu. Throughout the restaurant, shades of white accompany a natural palette while brilliant jade tones accent. Bespoke concrete tiles, grass cloth cladded walls and textured glass deliver a modern elegance.  These natural materials enhance the clean modern architectural language delivering a classic, yet contemporary setting.

When imagining the space, the team determined it was necessary to create spatial boundaries to provide a more intimate feel.  Arched transoms and antique mirror within traditional paneling add interest and sparkle to the rooms. These architectural moves reduce the overall restaurant scale and create a more residential style setting.

Features of old-world opulence are blended into the design as moments of surprise.  Whether found in the custom crafted armoire cabinets or noticed as accents at the bar, this project is distinctive and offers a romantic and memorable dining experience.
